Behind one of the many old warehouses in the Red Light District a deal was being made on this cold winter night. Drugs for money. Anyone who's been around the block a couple times knows perfectly well that this kind of thing was pretty normal in the RLD. What may have surprised them was that the man, who was tall, dark, and looked shady, was the customer and not the dealer. The dealer was actually the much shorter, young woman in front of him.
Cadence did not look like much of a threat to most, especially when compared to the other dealers around. It's made this job rather interesting for her in a downright dangerous sort of way. But, after what happened the last time someone was dumb enough to try and mess with her, things had gotten a bit easier with the rumors of what went down circling around her. And besides, she had her pistols on her at all times now in case people need to be reminded of their place. Luckily she didn't have to do that with this particular scum of the city as the deal went down pretty smoothly. Once the transaction was complete and the man disappeared from sight, Cadence began to make her way out of this area, heading towards home.
She was about halfway home when she realized she was being followed by something.. and it was not human. She quickly turned to see a younger dog behind her. A Rhodesian Ridgeback to be precise, with dirt and scars along his rather skinny body to indicate how long he's been on the streets. Cadence stopped and stared at her canine stalker, blinking a couple times. She had seen this dog earlier that day and left behind some extra food that she had on her for him, but honestly didn't expect for him to still be around. "Um... Hi there." The dog wagged his tail when she spoke, obviously saying a friendly hi back to her. "Erm.. why are you following me?" She kneeled down as she listened to the dog, very glad that she was able to understand canines. Apparently this dog had been abandoned by his previous owners and she was the only one to have shown him any kindness by leaving him some food. This dog liked her for that and wanted to know what more kindness like that was like.
It hit Cadence right at home as she could understand perfectly what the dog was going through herself. It felt like her heart was bleeding for the poor thing. She.. She couldn't just leave him here, not after actually talking to him. Plus, now that she was back to living by herself, she was feeling rather lonely. "...I don't have much, honestly. But I can share what I do have." With a small smile, Cadence rose to her feet and patted at her side for him to follow her home. From now on, they both won't have to spend a night completely alone and a bond shall be formed.
